What is a manuscript review or manuscript critique?
This service is aimed at authors who have asked themselves, their friends and beta readers the following:
- Do I have a book here?
- Am I on the right track?
- Can I actually write?
- How much will a full edit cost?
It is also for you if you are a self-published writer and –
- your sales are impacted by bad reviews, or
- you simply want to publish a revised version of your existing books.
Let’s get you off to the right start OF whip your manuscript into shape!
This is how the Manuscript Review service works:
The service can be performed on all completed manuscripts, bearing in mind that it will not include all the little edits that are included in a proofread, light edit, content edit or comprehensive edit, but more comments – you might say ‘writing training’, geared towards:
helping you identify plot holes – “You started with Character A, but s/he is completely missing from a very important scene on page 50.”
improving your book’s marketability – “Consider adding *this* small change to entice readers who are into current trends.”
avoiding bad writing habits – Most writers have a go-to bad habit, which usually relates to sentence structure, which affects readability or might annoy readers. Let’s nip it in the bud and make your future writing shine!
correcting common mistakes – Missing or over-capitalization.
Ultimately, improving your writing from the very start will help you reduce your final editing costs.
